Powder ranging from lemon yellow to brown, relative density 2.44～3.60. Melting point 350～400℃. Insoluble in water and alcohol, soluble in acid. The powder particles are fine, being crystalline hydrated iron oxide. Due to differences in production methods and operating conditions, the degree of hydration varies, leading to significant differences in crystal structure and physical properties. It has excellent tinting strength, hiding power, light fastness, acid resistance, alkali resistance, and heat resistance. Decomposes to release crystal water above 150℃, turning red. Inhalation of dust may cause pneumoconiosis; the maximum allowable concentration in air is 5mg/m³.

Main uses of iron oxide yellow
Iron oxide yellow pigment is suitable for coloring plastic products, such as thermosetting plastics and thermoplastic plastics. It can also be used for coloring rubber products, such as automobile inner tubes, aircraft inner tubes, bicycle inner tubes, etc.
